Eswatini: Authorities deny reports that the kingdom is facing shortage of men

The Kingdom of Eswatini has denied reports that it has granted citizenship to people from southern Africa to fill the country’s shortage of men.

Below is a fake viral letter purporting to be from King Mswati III. It expressed concern about the kingdom’s “lack of human resources.”

The letter stated that the king would allow willing men from southern Africa to marry women and receive free housing from the kingdom.

Eswatini, Africa’s last absolute monarchy, has a population of approximately 1.2 million.
