- Medical sources tell Al Jazeera that at least 38 people have been killed in Israeli attacks across the Gaza Strip since dawn today.
- International condemnation is mounting after Israeli forces fired “warning” shots towards foreign diplomats visiting the Jenin refugee camp in the occupied West Bank.
- The United Nations’s chief spokesperson said the limited humanitarian aid “finally” entering Gaza is “nowhere near enough to meet the needs” of the war-torn enclave’s famished population.
- Israel’s war on Gaza has killed at least 53,655 Palestinians and wounded 121,950, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry. The Government Media Office updated the death toll to more than 61,700, saying thousands of people missing under the rubble are presumed dead.
- An estimated 1,139 people were killed in Israel during the Hamas-led attacks on October 7, 2023, and more than 200 were taken captive.
Israeli army says it intercepted another missile from Yemen
The Israeli army says “a missile launched from Yemen was intercepted” and that sirens had sounded.
This report is separate from its claim earlier this morning to have intercepted another missile from Yemen, which it said was launched by the Houthis.
Today’s reports follow similar incidents on Monday and last Thursday.
Yemen’s Houthis have continued to fire missiles at Israel in a campaign they say is in solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza, although they have agreed to a ceasefire with the US to halt attacks on ships in the Red Sea.
Dozens of Palestinians detained in occupied West Bank
Wafa, citing the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS), says that Israeli forces detained 25 Palestinians from various areas of the occupied West Bank last night.
The PPS said that this included a number of prisoners released as part of the recent prisoner-captive exchange deal.
From October 2023 to April 2025, the number of Palestinian political prisoners doubled, rising from 5,250 to nearly 10,000.
According to the Palestinian Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs, since 1967, Israeli forces have detained an estimated one million Palestinians, or approximately 20 percent of the Palestinian population.
Statistically, this means one out of every five Palestinians has been imprisoned at some point in their life.

Israeli forces target medical warehouses
The Israeli army has intensified its aerial and ground bombardment across Gaza, in particular near al-Awda Hospital in the northern part of the enclave, which has been one of the few medical facilities operating in the north.
The management of the hospital told us that the Israeli army hit one of the main medical supplies warehouses. A huge fire broke out there, and they have been unable to contain it so far.
There will be a devastating ripple effect, especially in the process of distributing aid here in Gaza.
Until now, no aid trucks have made their journey to the north and if aid routes will be under fire, it means that aid will not be able to move to the north, and aid workers will not feel safe to operate on the ground, which will hamper the entire distribution process.

Israeli politicians blaming one another for shooting attack in Washington
Netanyahu’s office has released a lengthy statement saying Israel would be stepping up security at its embassies around the world.
Israeli politicians are attacking each other in the wake of the shooting. Members of the far right are accusing members of the far left, saying their rhetoric is the reason why these types of incidents are taking place.
Bezalel Smotrich is blaming left-wing member Yair Golan, saying it’s his rhetoric that is prompting this type of violence. But then you have Golan saying that actually it’s because of this right-wing government that is not popular within the Israeli public and also around the world, and is causing these types of acts of violence.
The Israeli Foreign Ministry will be giving a news conference soon to answer questions about what’s to come next as part of the investigation.

Governments condemn Israel for firing towards diplomats in West Bank

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney said the Israeli ambassador had been summoned and he expected an immediate explanation and full investigation of the shooting on Wednesday, which he described “totally unacceptable”.
“What happened violates the provisions of Article 29 of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, which establishes the inviolability of diplomatic agents, Mexico’s Foreign Ministry said. “All States Parties to the aforementioned Convention, including Israel, are obliged to respect it,” the ministry said.
Denmark’s Foreign Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen said the gunfire – which Israel described as warning shots – had “no place anywhere and is completely unacceptable”.

Washington police chief Pamela Smith said police have “tentatively identified” the suspect in the deadly shooting of two Israeli embassy staffers as Elias Rodriguez, a 30-year-old man from the city of Chicago.
“Both victims were exiting an event at the Capital Jewish Museum … when the shooting occurred,” she said at a news conference.
“[The suspect] approached a group of four people and produced a handgun and opened fire, striking both of our decedents,” Smith added.

We have been reporting on a deadly shooting tonight in Washington, DC, which has left two Israeli embassy staffers dead.

EU ties to Israel in spotlight as diplomats come under Israeli fire in occupied West Bank
Pandemonium as the group of diplomats comes under fire.
Representatives from Canada, Italy, Belgium, the UK and many other countries were on their way to observe the humanitarian situation in the Jenin refugee camp on a trip organised by the Palestinian Authority.
The Israeli military said its troops fired warning shots after the delegation deviated from the approved route. No one was injured.
Italy, Spain and France are summoning Israel’s ambassadors to explain the incident, and the EU’s foreign policy chief has called for an investigation.
The incident comes as pressure is building in Europe on Israel to end its blockade and allow aid into Gaza. The EU said it is reviewing its trade and cooperation agreement with Israel, warning that it may impose sanctions if the Israeli prime minister doesn’t let aid into the Strip.
The EU has often been accused of doing little to end the war in Gaza despite its huge political and financial leverage.
But there are many countries pushing the bloc to take a tougher stand against Israel. They are warning that the EU may never recover morally from not doing more to stop the deaths of tens of thousands of people.
