Authorities in the Central African Republic (CAR) have arrested a prominent government critic as he attempted to leave the country.
Clepin Mboli Gumba, the leader of the Reconstitutional Republican Block (BRDC), was arrested along with his wife at the main airport in the capital Bangui on Sunday.
Local media reported that Mr Mboli Gumba and his wife flew to Douala, Cameroon for medical reasons.
Mboli Kumba’s wife has been released, but the politician remains in custody.
