Ukraine has fired UK-made Storm Shadow missiles into Russia,

Ukraine has used British-supplied Storm Shadow missiles in Russia for the first time according to Bloomberg.

Residents in the village of Marino, Kursk, found fragments from a Storm Shadow missile on Wednesday.

The use of Storm Shadow missiles comes after Russia launched a counter offensive in Kursk, which was invaded by Ukrainian troops in August. 

The reported attack comes after President Joe Biden allowed Ukraine to use US-supplied long-range ATCAMS in Russia.

Ukraine says Russia is staging a “psychological attack” in spreading messages of a large attack on Kyiv and other citiesIt comes as the US embassy in Kyiv is temporarily closed after it received information of a “potential significant air attack on 20 November”.

Italy and Greece have also closed their embassies in Ukraine’s capital, while the UK’s embassy remains open, the Foreign Office says. The Spanish embassy closed for several hours but is now open.

The US embassy in Ukraine’s capital, Kyiv, says it has received “specific information of a potential significant air attack” on Wednesday, prompting it to shutter its doors. The Italian, Spanish and Greek embassies have also said their embassies will remain closed.

Russia’s foreign intelligence chief Sergey Naryshkin says that attempts by NATO countries to facilitate Ukrainian missile strikes deep inside Russia will not go unpunished, according to Russia’s state-run RIA news agency.

Ukraine’s military intelligence agency says a Russian command post in the town of Gubkin in Russia’s Belgorod region, about 168km (105 miles) from the border with Ukraine, was “successfully struck”.

Russia claims to have shot down 50 Ukrainian drones overnight and this morning over the Novgorod, Kursk, Belgorod, Bryansk and Samara regions.
